Job Purpose: The Trauma Therapist provides trauma counseling and appropriate assessments as needed for incarcerated individuals who are dealing with trauma and addiction.
Job Responsibilities: Enthusiastically supports, practices and communicates agencies
Mission and Statement of Values.
· Provide trauma therapy to justice involved adults, including Assessment, individual and group therapy, and crisis intervention
· Provide information and referrals to all clients in need following the agency’s protocol work collaboratively with partner agencies to provide support for victims of crime and others who are experiencing symptoms of trauma and addiction.
· Participate in service reach by researching community organizations
· Assist with special events
· Complete all administrative tasks as assigned on a timely basis, this includes, but is not limited to:
o documenting all activities,
o preparing weekly and monthly activity reports,
o maintaining up-to-date case records, and
o inputting into client database
· Follow protocol in completion of these reports
· Maintain statistics and prepare reports as needed, and maintain up-to-date client records
· Other duties as assigned based upon need of program
Skills and Abilities:
· Established clinical skills, providing both individual and group counseling
· Knowledge of public, private and community agencies including law enforcement agencies that may be utilized to help victims of crime.
· Ability to get along well with others and gain their cooperation
· Provide excellent and thorough customer service to all clients. Take the necessary time to understand clients’ needs.
· If a client/prospective client falls outside of jurisdiction, research resources and provide effective assistance.
· Ability to relate to persons in need of assistance
· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
· Complete professional assessments
· Ability to identify information and data critical to cases.
· Ability to follow oral and written instructions and read and comprehend procedures and implement them effectively
· Ability to complete administrative tasks on a timely basis, including documenting all activities and maintaining up-to-date records in the client database and confidential client files
· Be dependable, transparent on all tasks, receptive to supervision

· Must be able to get to and from various work locations

· Knowledge of the criminal justice system and family court system

Qualifications:
· State Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Mental Health Counselor. License must be current and CEU’s completed as directed by Tennessee Health Related Board of Psychology
· Two years of experience preferred with trauma informed therapy
· Experience working in a non-profit, human services setting preferred and working with a diverse population
· Ability to work in a team in a collaborative manner; and work with other team members on shared client issues
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
· Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
· Strong computer skills including working knowledge of anemail word and excel
Working Conditions
· Work hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. This position may require some evening and Saturday work hours.
· Normal sitting and movement in an office environment. May require occasional lifting up to 25 pounds and bending.
· Visual and hand usage of PC.
· Requires travel of South Central Tennessee Workforce Alliance area and other designated areas for meeting and job-related activities.
· May require occasional overnight travel.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
