Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide nursing care and clinical support to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises in our Psychiatric Urgent Care Clinic. This position operates within a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model, delivering person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-focused care to individuals requiring immediate behavioral health assessment, stabilization, and intervention. Experience working in behavioral health is preferred. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications:
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of an RN program with current licensure through the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Relevant nursing experience required; behavioral health or crisis care experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced behavioral health crisis setting
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must successfully pass a background check
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care and clinical support to individuals receiving services in the Psychiatric Urgent Care Clinic
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, monitor consumer health status, and document clinical findings
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established nursing standards
- Provide education, training, testing, monitoring, evaluation, and updates for MAC/MAS staff and nursing personnel
- Assist with crisis stabilization, wellness monitoring, and coordination of care within the CCBHC care model
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, peer support specialists, care coordinators, and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure integrated, person-centered care
- Monitor consumers for changes in medical or behavioral status and communicate concerns promptly to the treatment team
- Help maintain a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-oriented environment for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation in compliance with agency standards, regulatory requirements, and CCBHC guidelines
- Support continuity of care through coordination with community providers, hospitals, and other behavioral health resources as appropriate
