Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Assistant to support adults with mental health diagnoses participating in our Andalusia Rehabilitative Day Program in Covington County. This position operates within a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) model, providing person-centered support, transportation assistance, and rehabilitative services that promote recovery, independence, community integration, and continuity of care for individuals receiving behavioral health services.
Qualifications:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must have maintained a driver’s license for the past three years with an excellent driving record
- Must be eligible for coverage under center liability insurance and individually held vehicle liability insurance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills when working with adults receiving behavioral health services
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Must successfully pass a background check
Responsibilities:
- Provide support and supervision for adults participating in the Andalusia Rehabilitative Day Program
- Safely transport consumers to and from program services, appointments, and approved activities within Covington County
- Assist consumers with daily activities, skill-building, social interaction, and participation in rehabilitative programming
- Support a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment that promotes recovery, independence, and community engagement
- Collaborate with clinical staff and multidisciplinary team members to support individualized treatment goals within the CCBHC care model
- Monitor consumer well-being and report behavioral, emotional, or safety concerns to supervisory staff as needed
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and accurate documentation in compliance with agency standards and CCBHC guidelines
- Promote person-centered care, dignity, and positive engagement for individuals receiving behavioral health services
Work Environment:
- Work directly with adults receiving rehabilitative behavioral health services in a structured day program setting
- Support transportation, recovery-focused programming, and community integration efforts
- Engage in meaningful work that promotes wellness, independence, and improved quality of life for individuals with mental health diagnoses
ALL candidates must be able to type and have basic computer skills, possess a valid AL driver’s license, eligibility for coverage under center liability insurance and individually held vehicle liability insurance with a clear background check.
