Title: Elementary High Ability Tutor
Location: SBCSC Elementary Schools
Contract Length: 2025 - 2026 School Year
Hourly Rate: $22.00
Reports to: High Ability Coordinator
Position Summary:
The Elementary High-Ability tutor works directly with identified high-ability students in literacy, math, and STEM to deliver advanced and accelerated instruction tailored to their academic needs.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to lift, carry, push or pull objects and students up to 40 pounds.
- Physical stamina for standing, bending, squatting, or walking for long periods.
- Hand-Eye Coordination: Especially for lifting, stacking, or operating machinery.
- Repetitive Motions: Tolerance for repetitive tasks without injury or fatigue.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Previous experience with children or students with special needs.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others and understand individual students’ needs
- Ability to accurately record and summarize data
- Willingness to participate in pre and ongoing training programs
- Understand the individual needs of students
