Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a front office medical receptionist and surgery scheduler at South Bay Vascular Center & Vein Institute in Santa Cruz and Campbell, CA. The Medical Office Assistant will be responsible for phone etiquette, appointment scheduling, medical terminology, insurance verification, obtaining authorizations, helping onboard new hires, and administrative assistance to support the efficient operations of the vascular surgery center. . Full-time position available immediately in a well established, fast-paced medical practice. Our office prides itself on our relationships and on being able to deliver the best in surgical care to our patients. We currently have three offices, and are looking for someone to staff the Santa Cruz office 2-3 days a week and either the Gilroy or Campbell/San Jose office 2 days a week. We are willing to hire part-time for just Santa Cruz, or full-time for two of the offices.
We are searching for a mature, responsible, punctual, dependable team member that understands and values customer service, health and the importance of treating patients like family. Must be self-motivated, require little supervision, and be willing to go above and beyond to ensure the success of our team. Must display excellent organizational and communication skills. A professional appearance, attention to detail, good verbal skills and public relations skills are a must. Successful candidate ideally is bilingual speaking both fluent English and Spanish. Excellent written English is critical to this role.

You must have a college degree. We strongly prefer a four-year degree. We prefer someone mature, with medical office experience who is looking for a long term position. This could also be an excellent position for someone who is on a premed/pre-PA track. We require at least a two year commitment. You will have significant patient interactions. Your responsibilities may include:
: Answering a multi-line phone system
:Scheduling appointments on an electronic medical record and ensuring the efficient functioning of the practice
: Scheduling hospital surgeries and ensuring insurance authorizations
: Serving as a patient liason
: Putting in authorizations for visits/ultrasounds
: Maintaining and creating spreadsheets of patients being referred and recalled
: Assisting with maintaining physician credentials and insurance as well as practice paperwork needs
: Onboarding and training new hires and maintaining office policies
: Managing general office inventory
