Machine Shop Foreman
Location: Rural Nevada
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $85,000 – $110,000 per year (DOE)
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Machine Shop Foreman to lead daily operations in a growing precision job shop located in rural Nevada. This position requires strong hands-on experience running both manual and CNC machines, supervising a team of approximately 10 employees, reading blueprints, and assisting with job estimating.
This is a working foreman position — you will lead from the floor while ensuring productivity, quality, and on-time delivery.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage 10 machinists and shop personnel
- Operate manual mills and lathes
- Set up and run CNC mills and lathes
- Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
- Estimate jobs including labor, material, machine time, and outside processing
- Plan and schedule workflow to meet deadlines
- Maintain quality control standards
- Train and mentor employees
- Troubleshoot machining and production issues
- Ensure shop safety and organization
Qualifications
- 7 years machining experience (manual & CNC required)
- 3 years leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong blueprint reading and inspection skills
- Job shop experience preferred
- Experience quoting/estimating machining work preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and make production decisions
