Sr. Project Manager

SoundThinking is seeking a Sr. Project Manager to lead complex, customer-facing public safety software deployments and custom programs. Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of our customer software projects, with full ownership of every aspect of the delivery.
• Develop and maintain project schedule and plans, and resource plans, ensuring alignment with customer and business objectives.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams, including Product, Engineering, Professional Services, and Support, to drive project success.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customers, managing expectations, risks, and escalations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Define and track key program metrics, ensuring on time and high-quality delivery.
• Oversee contract requirements, scope management, and change control processes.
• Implement best practices for risk management, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the continuous improvement of deployment methodologies.
• Track and communicate project progress from a schedule, cost, and risk perspective to the project team, stakeholders, and management.
• Coordinate requirements gathering, design sessions, training, go-live events, and other meetings with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Meet at the customer site on demand and as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in program or project management within the software industry, preferably in public safety, SaaS, or enterprise software deployments.
• Must be proficient in project forecasting and project accounting
• Must be able to work with different resource managers, divisions, and individuals to ensure all project tasks are coordinated and executed on time and on budget.
• Strong understanding of public safety technology solutions and their impact on government agencies and communities.
• Experience managing large-scale customer projects with complex configurations and integrations.
• Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving successful customer outcomes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA, Smartsheet, and MS Project.
• PMP, PgMP, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or a related field.
• Requires frequent onsite meetings in the NYC Region
• Ability to work at customer site, as needed
• Leverage AI-enabled tools and platforms to improve project planning, execution, and reporting.
• Adoption of AI-based solutions within the project to enhance productivity, communication, and decision-making.

Hybrid Workplace
SoundThinking follows a hybrid schedule for employees who live equal to or less than 50 miles from one of our office locations, which include Fremont, CA, Tucson, AZ, Washington, D.C., or Iselin, NJ. Employees are expected to work onsite 3 days per week – the specific days are dependent on the office location.
