Lead Complex Projects — Not Corporate Bureaucracy

Soundproof San Diego is a specialty noise control construction and consulting firm designing and building high‐performance soundproofing and architectural acoustic environments across Southern California.

We work where architecture, engineering, and construction intersect to solve complex noise challenges.

Our projects include:

  • Performing arts theaters
  • Recording studios and music venues
  • Restaurants and hospitality spaces
  • Fitness and wellness facilities
  • Medical and office environments
  • K‐12 schools and higher education facilities
  • Commercial tenant improvements and specialty spaces

Many of our projects require creative coordination between structural assemblies, acoustical systems, and architectural design.

We are expanding our commercial portfolio and seeking a Senior Project Manager who can lead projects, mentor team members, and help strengthen our project management systems.

Position Overview

The Senior Project Manager will oversee multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring successful delivery in terms of budget, schedule, quality, and client satisfaction.

This role is ideal for a PM who enjoys technical problem‐solving and direct collaboration with field teams rather than navigating layers of corporate bureaucracy.

You will work closely with ownership, project management staff, and field crews to deliver complex projects in a highly specialized niche of the construction industry.

  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and clients

  • Work closely with field teams to coordinate installation sequencing and problem‐solving
  • Mentor Assistant Project Managers and support team development
  • Strengthen project systems, workflows, and best practices as the company grows
  • Support preconstruction and estimating when needed
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and trade partners

Required Qualifications

  • 8 years construction experience including commercial projects
  • 5 years project management experience managing complex construction projects including suspended acoustical ceilings
  • Experience working with large general contractors or specialty trades
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, cost control, and contract administration
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience with project management software such as Procore or similar platforms
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem‐solving skills
  • Comfortable coordinating work in both office and active job site environments

Preferred

  • Experience with technically demanding construction assemblies or specialty trades
  • Experience working on public or institutional projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • OSHA certification

  • Opportunity to lead technically unique projects
  • Direct collaboration with company leadership
  • Smaller company environment with high autonomy and accountability
  • Ability to influence systems, processes, and team development
  • Specialty niche involving architectural acoustics and soundproofing

Compensation & Benefits

  • $140,000 – $180,000 base performance bonus (total comp $170k–$220k ) depending on experience
