Sound Retina is an independent physician owned retinal specialty practice with locations in Tacoma, Olympia, and Kennewick, Washington. We take care of patients with serious retinal disease including wet AMD, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, geographic atrophy, and everything in between. We are not affiliated with private equity or corporate health systems. The doctors here make the decisions and they make them based on what is best for the patient.
Role Description
This is a full time in person role based in Tacoma. We are looking for someone to lead our clinical research program, not manage it from a distance but actually run it. That means being in the clinic, knowing the patients, understanding the protocols, and making sure everything runs the way it should. You will work directly alongside our physicians and be the person sponsors and CROs call when they need something done. As our research program grows this role grows with it.
Qualifications:
Hands on experience performing BCVA under ETDRS conditions. Familiarity with HVF, MAIA microperimetry, OCT, and basic ophthalmic photography. Direct experience managing interventional trials including GCP compliance, adverse event reporting, and regulatory binder maintenance. Experience sitting across from a sponsor monitor during an audit and coming out the other side. Two to five years of clinical research experience in ophthalmology or retina specifically.
Education:
Bachelor of Science preferred, Bachelor of Arts acceptable.
What we would love to see:
Masters in Public Health or Science. CCRP or CCRC certification. Experience as primary site coordinator on a Phase 2 or Phase 3 retinal trial. REDCap or similar database experience.
