Summary: The Research Admixture Technician works as a member of the clinical research team, supporting oncologic drug preparation and accountability tracing for investigational drug products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
The Research Admixture Technician responsibilities and duties are to ensure full-time engagement and support for NWMS clinical trials.
Admixture Technician Duties:
- Manages investigational product (IP) inventory (receiving, organizing, and monitoring the use of IP), record-keeping related to clinical trials as required by the study protocols, and monitoring the expiration date of IP inventory.
- Prepares oral, intravenous, intermuscular, or subcutaneous IP in accordance with established procedures and requirements for specific studies.
- Prepares cytotoxic agents for administration employing clinic aseptic and protective procedures.
- Performs workload measurement support functions by reviewing daily workload and planning for timely execution of tasks with other admixture/research team members.
- Performs quality improvement and quality assurance implementation as they relate to investigational products by assisting the team with internal and external audits on IP inventories, IP accountability logs, and resolving any discrepancies noted.
- Maintains proper functioning of equipment used to store, prepare, and monitoring IP including temperature monitoring of refrigerators, freezers, and ambient IP cabinets.
- Maintains and ensures IP preparation work areas are kept in a clean, organized manner such that study supplies and materials are easily identified and located.
- Interact with study monitors overseeing specific studies in person or online.
- Assists with data entry of source documentation into electronic systems (IRTs).
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.
- Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $26.00 - $33.00 per hour
