You will be technically self-employed, working for our company. This means you will be responsible for your own taxes. The spa provides all product, materials, laundry, etc. Pay is commission plus tips. The percentage paid is based on experience and modalities that you can perform.
Duties
- Perform a variety of massage techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and occupational health treatments tailored to individual client needs
- Conduct thorough client assessments to identify areas of tension, pain points, and treatment goals
- Communicate clearly with clients about treatment plans, comfort levels, and post-session care instructions
- Maintain detailed records of treatments provided and client progress in compliance with health regulations
- Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by adhering to sanitation standards and safety protocols such as CPR certification
- Educate clients on self-care practices and recommend appropriate therapies for ongoing wellness or pain management
- Stay current with industry best practices, new techniques, and medical terminology relevant to massage therapy and physiology knowledge
Requirements
- Valid massage therapy license or certification in accordance with state or local regulations
- Proven experience in various massage modalities including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, trigger point therapy, and prenatal massage.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to accurately assess client needs and tailor treatments effectively
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse clients
- Experience with pain management techniques and occupational health benefits preferred
- Certification in CPR and first aid required or obtainable upon hire
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings or weekends as needed to accommodate client schedules
