POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Operations provides strategic leadership and operational foresight for Soul City Church, ensuring that systems, facilities, safety, technology and organizational practices proactively support ministry growth. This leader translates vision into sustainable infrastructure by anticipating future operational needs related to attendance growth, facility usage, security, and organizational complexity before challenges arise.
The Director of Operations oversees churchwide operations, facilities, security posture, and helps with major projects like new building construction while developing scalable systems that protect Soul City’s culture of warmth, excellence, and hospitality. This role partners closely. with ministry leaders, the Director of Finance, and the Executive Pastor to help translate vision into operational plans and priorities, and support a healthy, well-organized staff culture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- 35% Churchwide Operations Strategy & Risk Management: Lead operational systems, policies, and procedures, oversee legal, risk management, insurance, and compliance coordination, ensure organizational practices align with best practices and church values, maintain and improve operational clarity across ministries.
- 35% Facilities, Vendors & Projects: Oversee facilities management, maintenance, and capital improvements, lead major projects, renovations, and operational initiatives, manage vendor relationships and contracts, oversee security systems and safety protocols.
- 20% Systems & Process Leadership: Own operational tools and systems (Planning Center, HR systems and benefit administration, workflows), improve efficiency through process design and documentation, partner with teams to support scalable ministry operations.
- 10% Team Management: Oversee and develop operations staff and contractors, foster a culture of ownership, clarity, and excellence.

Experience
- 5 years in operations, facilities, HR, or executive leadership
- Experience in nonprofit or church environments preferred
- Proven leadership in systems, projects, and organizational operations
Familiarity with Planning Center, BambooHR (or similar), and G Suite
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, HR, or related field preferred
