Position Summary
Soudal is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Administrative and Purchasing Assistant to join our Supply Chain and Finance team. This role is ideal for someone beginning their purchasing or supply chain career and looking to grow within a manufacturing environment. The Operational Buyer supports purchasing activities by planning, issuing, and tracking purchase orders while collaborating closely with operations, quality, and logistics teams to ensure materials are delivered on time to support production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and process purchase orders for multiple departments using SAP and Hermes systems
- Support daily purchasing activities in alignment with production schedules and company goals
- Verify accuracy of purchase order details including pricing, part numbers, descriptions, delivery dates, and ship-to locations
- Communicate with vendors regarding order status, delivery schedules, and discrepancies
- Assist with scheduling tanker and container deliveries
- Track deliveries and update order status in SAP
- Maintain spreadsheets to help consolidate orders and optimize order quantities and freight efficiency
- Track and report on-time delivery performance metrics
- Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records in Sap
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, manufacturing, or a related role
- Experience with SAP preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate issues
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data tracking
