Position Overview
The selected intern will apply principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to develop software for high stakes applications. This role involves working alongside cross functional engineering teams to design and evaluate the interfaces between hardware and software components.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate on the full software development life cycle including requirements gathering design coding integration and testing.
- Develop embedded software for real time control systems used in advanced tactical equipment.
- Create and maintain software test procedures programs and technical documentation.
- Utilize experimental testing and modeling tools to validate operating data and evaluate system results.
- Engage in peer reviews to identify track and resolve software defects.
- Work with a variety of programming languages and platforms including C C Java Python and SQL on Windows Linux and various real time operating systems.
Work Schedule
This position follows a 9 80 schedule meaning you will work 80 hours over 9 days with every other Friday off.
Required Qualifications
- Current enrollment in an accredited Bachelor Master or PhD program.
- Relevant majors include Computer Science Computer Engineering Software Engineering Electrical Engineering Mathematics or a related technical field.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge
- Experience or familiarity with any of the following is beneficial
- C C C Sharp Java Ruby or Python
- Web technologies such as HTML5 XML and SQL
- Real Time Operating Systems RTOS and embedded systems
- Wireless communications software security or robotics
- Object oriented analysis and design OOA OOD
- Mobile platform development such as Android
