A premier engineering services firm is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of next generation defense technology. My client specializes in mission critical software for federal and defense sectors, focusing on high impact tools that support strategic operations and advanced weapon planning. New hires for this role are eligible for a sign on bonus of two thousand five hundred dollars.
Your role will involve the end to end development of complex applications and research projects. You will be a primary contributor to an open architecture mission planning system for defense use. Key duties include setting the long term technical vision for projects, translating high level goals into actionable software designs, and establishing the architectural foundations for enterprise scale solutions. You will also be expected to mentor others and stay current with emerging development tools.
To be considered for this role you must meet the following criteria
- A Bachelor degree in a technical discipline with at least 14 years of professional experience or a Master degree with at least 10 years of experience
- Active proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C Sharp, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript
- Experience with modern web frameworks including but not limited to React, Node, Vue, Next, ASP.NET, or Angular
- Strong foundational skills in software architecture and the ability to manage team workflows and priorities
- Willingness to collaborate both in person and virtually to solve problems and present results to clients
- You must be a United States Citizen and capable of passing a government background investigation
Highly qualified candidates may also possess
- Prior experience building mission planning systems for defense applications
- Hands on experience with containerized microservices and Kubernetes environments
- A history of taking software products through the entire lifecycle from initial design to final launch
- Familiarity with AI assisted development processes
- Technical certifications from organizations like Google, Microsoft, or Scrum alliances
- A portfolio of previous work or code samples for review
