Sr Advanced Test Engineer (Automated Test)

Are you an experienced test engineer with expertise in automated test equipment (ATE), electronics design, LabVIEW development, and manufacturing test systems? This role offers the opportunity to lead the development of sophisticated hardware and software test solutions that support both production and next-generation aerospace products.
As a Senior Advanced Test Engineer, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of automated test system development, including hardware design, software development, integration, troubleshooting, and project execution.
You will serve as a key contributor in both technical leadership and project management, ensuring test systems meet quality, schedule, reliability, and production requirements.
Reporting to the Senior Systems Engineering Manager, you will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and technical teams to deliver robust testing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware Design & Test System Development
β’ Design digital and analog signal conditioning circuits for automated test systems.
β’ Select and integrate Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) hardware components.
β’ Develop electrical schematics and technical documentation for test consoles.
β’ Support fabrication, assembly, integration, and validation of test systems.
β’ Evaluate and implement hardware solutions that improve performance and maintainability.
β’ Mentor and support electrical technicians responsible for test system assembly and sustainment.
Software Development & Automation
β’ Develop automated test applications using LabVIEW.
β’ Create, maintain, and release software through established configuration management processes.
β’ Troubleshoot and resolve software issues affecting manufacturing test operations.
β’ Improve software architecture, maintainability, and performance.
β’ Support software lifecycle activities including:
- Development
- Testing
- Validation
- Release Management
- Configuration Control
Automated Test Engineering
β’ Design and develop automated test solutions for production and engineering environments.
β’ Integrate and configure:

β’ Support deployment and long-term sustainment of automated test platforms.
β’ Ensure test systems meet product quality, reliability, and throughput requirements.
Project Leadership & Program Execution
β’ Develop schedules and manage deliverables aligned with Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
β’ Monitor project milestones and communicate risks proactively.
β’ Lead technical activities from concept through deployment.
β’ Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure successful execution of test system initiatives.
Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement
β’ Lead issue resolution activities for hardware and software problems.
β’ Apply structured root-cause analysis methodologies including:

β’ Implement corrective and preventive actions.

Required Qualifications
Education
β’ Bachelor's Degree in:

Experience
β’ Minimum 8 years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Test Engineering
- Electrical Design
- Software Development
- Automated Test Systems
Preferred Qualifications
Education
β’ Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering preferred.
Automated Test Equipment (ATE) Experience
β’ Experience architecting and developing automated test systems.
β’ Experience with National Instruments (NI) hardware and software platforms.
β’ Minimum 5 years of experience developing production test solutions preferred.
