Internship Opportunity: Event Support – Fall 2025
We’re seeking a motivated student to join our administrative team and contribute to the planning and execution of events hosted at our state-of-the-art research campus. This experiential learning opportunity involves supporting visitor programs and internal events, including our immersive storytelling experience showcasing our mission and innovation.
Under the direction of the Administrative Manager, the selected intern will assist with both the logistical and hands-on aspects of campus events, meetings, and programs. Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating event preparations such as audio/visual arrangements, catering, room configuration, and materials.
- Supporting day-of event operations to ensure seamless execution.
- Assisting with post-event activities including space breakdown, laundering event items, and sanitizing personal protective equipment.
- Serving as a communication bridge among internal teams before and during events.
- Enforcing and modeling health and safety protocols for guests and staff.
- Managing other special assignments as needed.
Internship Details:
- Position duration: August through December 2025.
- Location: West Glocester, Rhode Island.
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (some flexibility required for varying event schedules).
- Candidates must have reliable transportation to and from the site.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a degree in Hospitality, Event Management, or a related field.
- Junior or senior academic standing.
- Able to commit to full-time hours during the internship term.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
- Comfortable handling sensitive information discreetly.
- Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Curious, proactive, and capable of independently managing small projects.
