General Accountant & Customer Order Specialist

Sortimo of North America Inc. (SNA) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sortimo International GmbH, based in Germany. Sortimo is market leader in Germany and Europe for providing van equipment to trades and fleets. After fifteen years in business, SNA has established Sortimo as a premium brand for van upfits and organization in the US market having equipped many well-known fleets. Sortimo North American is searching for a detail-oriented General Accountant & Customer Order Specialist to manage day-to-day accounting operations while serving as the primary point of contact for customer order updates and billing inquiries. In this dual role, you will maintain financial accuracy, handle accounts payable and receivable, and keep customers informed on the status of their orders and invoices.

Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), including issuing invoices and tracking payments.
• Act as the liaison between clients, sales, and operations to provide timely order status and shipping updates.
• Handle customer inquiries regarding invoices, account balances, payment methods, and receipt confirmations.
• Resolve billing discrepancies, credit hold issues, and order processing snags in coordination with the sales team.
• Maintain clean, organized records of customer communications, purchase orders, and transaction history.
• Interact with shop floor management on a daily basis to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies or to provide additional information as requested from Manufacturing, Customer Service and Accounting.
• Ensuring all order details—such as item specifications, pricing, taxes, and shipping terms—are accurate before processing.
• Serves as the primary voice for the customer, providing clear and timely order updates from placement to final delivery.
• Providing customers with order confirmations, real-time milestone updates (e.g., packing status, shipping tracking), and clear warnings about potential delays.
• Manages delayed shipments, stock discrepancies, returns, and refund requests transparently.
• Develop and achieve departmental/company goals and controls. Make suggestions for improvement in areas of cost reduction, processes, quality and productivity.
• Confer with department managers to determine progress of work and completion dates; inventory levels, and solving production problems.



Skills and Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in general accounting, bookkeeping, or a blended administrative/finance role.
• High proficiency with SAP ERP/MRP software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask between back-office accounting tasks and front-facing customer requests.
