The Sous Chef plays a critical role in supporting the kitchen operations by overseeing food preparation, managing inventory, and ensuring quality and safety standards in fast-paced casual and fine dining environments. Reporting directly to the Head Chef and Restaurant Owner, the Sous Chef leads a small kitchen team, coordinating staff and contributing to menu and recipe development. This position offers growth opportunities toward advancing to the Executive Chef role.
Responsibilities
- Prepare food in accordance with established recipes and quality standards
- Plan menus in collaboration with the Head Chef
- Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate team efforts
- Manage inventory and control stock levels to minimize waste
- Train new and existing staff to maintain high performance
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- Oversee order management and timely delivery of kitchen output
- Develop and refine recipes to enhance menu offerings
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years experience in culinary arts
- Proficiency in food preparation and kitchen management
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
