Machine Maintenance Technician Level IV
Summary: Clean, lubricate, maintain and repair production machinery and equipment. Master level position with high-level troubleshooting skills and techniques on multiple types of machines. Performs difficult machining operations on replacement parts. Diagnose and resolve machine problems, including tear down and reassembly. Establishes methods of machine maintenance.
Essential Job Functions:
§ Knowledge of production equipment. Understands and performs machine maintenance procedures.
§ Maintains machines, inspects filters and tubes, and ensures machines have coolant and lubricant.
§ Able to read, interpret drawings and machine maintenance instructions.
§ Records production repairs and machine maintenance information. Follows instructions on Maintenance work orders.
§ Understands and performs end of shift duties, oil recycling, material separation and housekeeping procedures.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Interprets instructions both written and oral. Works in a team environment to resolve work issues. Knowledge of basic shop math. Forklift certification preferred but not required. Communicates effectively in English.
Education and Experience:
Minimum High School Diploma or GED preferred. Previous work experience in manufacturing setting preferred but not necessary.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to occasionally exert push force up to 50 pounds, must have good eye sight and hand dexterity, and able to identify and distinguish colors.
Work Environment:
Within safety guidelines, there will be exposure to noise, moving mechanical parts, oils/solvents, fumes, and odors that may affect the eyes, ears, nose, throat and/or skin.
