Summary: Responsible for plant maintenance, cleaning, basic repairs and pest control for buildings and property. Also, maintains company trucks and forklifts with regular preventive maintenance. Intermediate level position for plant maintenance and repairs (change light bulbs, ballast replacement, fabrication, basic painting, electrical, masonry and carpentry).

Responsibilities:

• Keeps property clean and in orderly condition.
• Inspects and evaluates repairs to property or equipment to determine the type of work required.
• Identifies and communicates with management or consultants the need for repairs.
• Requisitions supplies and equipment for repairs, replacement, cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Understands waste and water disposal procedures. Follows safety principles for use of chemical cleaners, tools and power equipment in order to prevent damage.

Knowledge and Abilities: Interprets instructions both written and oral. Works in a team with co-workers to resolve work issues. Knowledge of basic shop math. Forklift certification preferred but not required. Able to communicate effectively in English.

Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED preferred. Previous work experience in manufacturing or facilities setting preferred but not necessary.

Physical Demands: Must be able to occasionally exert push force up to 50 pounds, must have good eye sight and hand dexterity, and able to identify and distinguish colors.

Work Environment: Within safety guidelines, there will be exposure to noise, moving mechanical parts, oils/solvents, fumes, and odors that may affect the eyes, ears, nose, throat and/or skin.
