Location: Remote
Job Overview
Sophus IT Solutions is seeking an experienced Power Platform Solution Architect to lead the modernization of the Predictive Model.
The current forecasting solution is a complex Excel-based financial model used for:
- Cash balance forecasting
- Revenue and expenditure projections
- Burn-rate analysis
- Loan amortization forecasting
- Scenario planning and reporting
The modernization initiative will replace manual spreadsheet-driven processes with an automated, scalable, and governed Microsoft Power Platform solution.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in:
- Power BI
- Power Apps
- Power Automate
- Dataverse
- Power Query/Dataflows
- Financial forecasting and analytical modeling
- Data transformation and automation
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Architecture
- Design end-to-end Power Platform architecture for the PWAA Predictive Model modernization
- Translate complex Excel-based forecasting logic into scalable enterprise solutions
- Define scalable data models and semantic models
- Ensure maintainability, governance, transparency, and auditability
Data Management & Automation
- Automate ingestion of financial data from systems such as:
- AFRS
- CMS
- WebI
- Treasury systems
- Excel/CSV source files
- Build reusable data transformation pipelines using:
- Power BI Dataflows
- Power Query
- Eliminate manual spreadsheet-based ETL processes
- Implement automated refresh and orchestration workflows using Power Automate
Forecasting & Analytics
- Implement forecasting logic currently embedded in Excel formulas
- Develop and optimize:
- Cash flow forecasting
- Burn-rate calculations
- Loan amortization models
- Revenue projections
- Scenario analysis
- Support dynamic recalculation of forecasts based on user-defined assumptions
Power Apps Development
- Build Power Apps Canvas applications for:
- Scenario management
- Assumption management
- Workflow tracking
- Forecast adjustments
- User interaction and approvals
- Integrate Dataverse for governed business data storage
Reporting & Visualization
- Develop Power BI dashboards and reports supporting:
- Actual vs projected analysis
- Historical trends
- Cash balance forecasting
- Scenario comparisons
- Financial reporting for leadership and stakeholders
- Centralize reporting logic using Power BI semantic models
Required Qualifications
- 7 years of Microsoft Power Platform experience
- Strong expertise in:
- Power BI
- Power Query
- Power Apps
- Power Automate
- Dataverse
- Strong experience with:
- Data transformation
- Data automation
- ETL processes
- Financial data modeling
- Reporting and analytics
- Advanced Excel and spreadsheet modeling experience
- Experience modernizing legacy/manual business processes
- Strong understanding of forecasting and analytical solutions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with financial forecasting or budgeting systems
- Experience with loan amortization and cash flow models
- Public sector/government project experience
- Experience with:
- SharePoint
