Job Summary
Join our caring team at a locally owned independent pharmacy in Jonesboro, AR, where you will play a meaningful role in delivering pharmacy medications and healthcare products directly to our patients. As a Pharmacy Delivery Driver / Patient Care Assistant, you will help ensure our patients receive their medications safely and promptly while providing the compassionate, personal touch that defines independent pharmacy care.
Duties
- Safely operate our company-provided standard car or SUV to deliver prescriptions and pharmacy products to patients’ homes, assisted living facilities, and clinics in the Jonesboro area.
- Provide friendly, professional, and compassionate service during each delivery — greet patients warmly, confirm identity, answer basic questions, and offer assistance with a caring attitude.
- Verify patient information, obtain signatures when required, and accurately document delivery details while maintaining strict patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
- Assist inside the pharmacy when not on deliveries: help with patient check-out, answer phones, prepare packages, and support the team in creating a welcoming environment for our patients.
- Plan and follow efficient local delivery routes to ensure timely service while prioritizing patient needs.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the company-provided delivery vehicle and perform routine visual inspections.
- Communicate effectively with the pharmacy team regarding delivery status, any patient concerns, or schedule adjustments.
- Occasionally assist with light tasks such as stocking shelves or organizing delivery packages — no heavy lifting or warehouse equipment required.
Schedule
- Part-time position: 4–5 hours per day, starting mid-day (typically afternoon shifts)
- Flexible scheduling available to accommodate your needs
Skills & Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (must be insurable on our pharmacy’s vehicle insurance).
- Genuine passion for helping others and a warm, patient-centered attitude.
- Strong customer service and communication skills — ability to interact compassionately with patients of all ages.
- Ability to work independently while representing our pharmacy’s values of compassion, accuracy, and professionalism.
- Basic computer skills and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in pharmacy, healthcare, or customer service is preferred but not required — we provide full training.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- No experience with heavy machinery, forklifts, or commercial trucks needed.
