Duties
- Safely operate box trucks and commercial vehicles with manual transmission to deliver furniture across designated routes.
- Load and unload items using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual lifting techniques, ensuring proper handling of all goods.
- Navigate route driving efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols to meet delivery schedules.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting clients with their deliveries, answering questions, and ensuring complete satisfaction.
- Verify delivery orders, inspect items for damage or discrepancies, and document all deliveries accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and routine maintenance of delivery vehicle to ensure optimal performance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate deliveries and report any issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, courier, or in a similar transportation role involving furniture or heavy goods.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks; certification is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading, unloading, moving furniture, or setting up items at customer locations.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional demeanor.
- Knowledge of route planning and navigation tools to optimize delivery efficiency.
- Prior experience with manual transmission vehicles is advantageous; must be comfortable driving various types of trucks.
