Job Description
The Shift Leader is responsible for the start-up, shut down, and troubleshooting of the production process during normal production runs. In addition, managing personnel (production workers) making sure everyone working efficiently and safely. As well as verifying products meet or exceed the established quality levels at the standard rates that have been established.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with new operators verifying that they are trained and can be comfortably left to produce.
- Meets with the Shift Supervisor and other Shift Leads to discuss any and all issues relating to the shop floor.
- Assists the Shift Supervisor to ensure the part quality is understood, standard production rates are maintained, and to ensure that only product that meets or exceeds quality criteria is packaged.
- Able to audit and maintain ERP system (PLEX).
- Follow all departmental operational procedures relating to the set-up, operation, and shut down of jobs.
- Provide training and development to team members to enhance performance and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Perform special duties and or projects as assigned.
- Resolve any operational issues that arise during the shift, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
QUALIFICATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTS :
- Minimum of a high school diploma or an equivalent.
- 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Problem analysis and problem resolution ability.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Team oriented
- Must be reliable
- Willing to work overtime on short notice
- Some prior knowledge of PLEX or other ERP systems
Job Type: 2nd Shift Full-time (2:15pm to 10:30pm)
