Employment: Part time (7am - 1:30pm)
Reports to: Preschool Director
Summary of Job: The Floater teacher takes direction from the lead teacher to keep the classroom running smoothly, assist with anything as needed. They will educate the children in a Christ-centered and biblically-oriented environment.

Essential Functions
- Adhere to all policies and procedures as stated in the Minimum Standards for Licensed Child Daycare Centers, and the Sonshine Preschool Employee Handbook.
- Reflect the purpose of the school, which is to honor Christ in every class and in every activity.
- Plan and execute a developmentally appropriate program in coordination with your teaching partner
- Ensure the welfare, health, and safety of each child in your care
- Maintain appropriate records
- Maintain good communication with children, families, and co-workers
- Take care of school and church property
- Commit to growing professionally through staff development opportunities and special school events.
Competencies:
Establish positive relationships with parents/guardians/families by:
- Greeting each person warmly during drop off and pick up, sharing both positive and negative events of the child’s day, by taking an interest in the family as a whole, and by responding to parent/guardian/family questions and concerns.
- Maintaining confidentiality with information relating to parent(s)/guardian(s)/family and children, being careful what information is shared with other staff.
- Participating in activities with parent(s)/guardian(s)/family as assigned by the Lead Teacher.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
- Maintaining current First-Aid and CPR certification during employment.
- At least 2 years experience in daycare-management.
- Must be able to pass a background check
- At least 18 years of age, and high school diploma or GED certificate required
- Complete a Tuberculosis test and physical and provide a physician’s documentation of both upon hire and submit a new completed physical every 2 years
- Complete a training as required by DHS, and follow all guidelines for licensing.
- Be mentally and physically capable of supervising and caring for a group of children alone in a classroom
- Possess a strong work ethic, be punctual, and have minimal absences
- Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children and have developmentally appropriate expectations
- Be able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pul, and carry children up to 35lbs.
- Agree to flexible hours.
- Have dependable transportation
