What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher position at Sonshine Preschool Ministries?
Sonshine Preschool is now hiring early childhood educators who are experienced across all classrooms, passionate about Jesus, and must be dependable. Every time we open God’s Word with young children, we have an opportunity to show them Jesus—so we intentionally point to the Gospel in every possible moment.
Part and Full Floater: (7am-3pm, 9am-6pm, 12am-3pm, 12pm-6pm, 2pm-6pm)
Floaters support teachers across our 12months through Preschool classrooms, helping ensure a smooth and engaging day for all students. This role requires flexibility, teamwork, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed.
2-Year-Old Teacher (Full-Time): 7:30am-4:30pm or 9am-6pm
We are seeking a full-time teacher for our 2-year-old classroom who is experienced and confident working with this age group. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, structured environment that supports early learning and development.
Essential Job Functions: Activities may include and/or are not limited to the following.
- Assist staff, as needed in the classroom
- Assist with daily classroom activities and routines
- Participate in lunch and playground duty to enforce rules outside the classroom
- Support lead teachers with development and implementation of curriculum and lesson planning
- Guide students and aid with individual needs using behavior management techniques
- Protect safety and health of children closely following classroom rules and procedures
- Supervise children by continually remaining within sight and sound
- Set up food, snacks, assist children and cleans up after snacks
- Maintains confidentiality
- Maintains a safe and healthy environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Christian actively attending church, and have strong faith and commitment to Christian values
- 12 Early Child Education Units (preferred)
- 150 hours in a license day care facility experience (Preferred)
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must have a high school diploma/GED
- First Aid and CPR Certified
