At the Y, we don’t just teach swimming — we build confidence, safety, and belonging.
🏊 What You’ll Be Doing
- Teach swim lessons and water safety skills following YMCA guidelines
- Maintain constant supervision to ensure swimmer safety
- Create a positive, encouraging experience for participants and families
- Prepare lesson plans and track attendance and skill progress
- Set up, organize, and care for class equipment
- Support and guide class aides as assigned
- Promote YMCA aquatics programs and community engagement
✅ What We’re Looking For
- Must be at least 16 years old
- CPR & First Aid for the Professional Rescuer with AED
(or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire) - Swim lesson instruction experience preferred but not required
- Comfortable working outdoors in a dynamic, active environment
- Strong communication skills and a safety‑first mindset
- DOJ & FBI fingerprint clearance required, which includes sex offender screening
