The Sonoma County Family YMCA is seeking a Part-Time Childcare Site Director to oversee one of our Sebastopol childcare sites and help shape the lives of children in our community.

What You'll Do
As the Childcare Site Director, you'll provide leadership and oversight for a YMCA childcare program while ensuring a safe, welcoming, and enriching environment for children and families. Responsibilities include-
Leadership & Staff Development
- Build, motivate, and lead a team dedicated to creating safe, enriching, and engaging experiences for children.
- Coach and develop staff through hands-on leadership, constructive feedback, and continuous learning opportunities.
- Foster a workplace culture built on communication, collaboration, inclusion, and professional growth.
- Coordinate staffing and provide guidance to ensure daily program excellence and outstanding service to families.
- Facilitate weekly team meetings and partner with YMCA leadership to share best practices, solve challenges, and strengthen program outcomes.
Youth Development
- Develop fun, creative, and enriching experiences that spark curiosity, encourage exploration, and support the whole child.
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment where every child feels valued, connected, and inspired to reach their potential.
- Support academic success through homework help, project assistance, and individualized encouragement.
- Build meaningful relationships with participants while promoting confidence, resilience, leadership, and social-emotional growth.
Program Administration
- Assist with registration, record keeping, and fee collection.
- Coordinate healthy snack planning and supply management.Â
- Help market the program and welcome prospective families.Â
Safety & Supervision
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children.Â
- Follow YMCA policies and emergency procedures.Â
- Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging program environment.Â
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.Â
- Minimum of 12 months of experience working with children in a classroom, childcare, after-school, youth program, or camp setting.Â
- Minimum of 15 college units in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Physical Education, or Social Sciences (transcripts required).Â
- Must successfully pass DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearance, including sex offender screening.Â
