What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outside Parts Sales position at Sonny Merryman Inc.?
Responsibilities: Be an asset to our Customer base in order to increase regional parts sales, contributions to our bottom line, and an overall Customer advocate of our company. Sales persons will build relationships with Customer base and understand their parts pain points and needs. Strive to meet these needs with parts solutions and services.
Responsibilities and Success Factors:
· Increase Parts Department sales and bottom line. Today’s regional sales = X. Next quarter’s regional sales = X Y.
· Outside salesperson for school bus parts, and overall liaison to represent all aspect of our dealership.
· Building sustainable relationship with your Customers.
· Influence and coach Customers on purchasing decisions.
· Greater than 20 visits per week.
General Responsibilities and Tasks/Duties
Customer calls and interfaces (80% of time allocated)
· Developing a travel plan that maximizes visits.
· Conduct shop visits with key personnel.
· Offering specific promotions. Distributing flyers and/or communicating promotions.
· Collecting part issues Customers are experiencing.
· Collect any other Customer issues outside of parts and pass onto correct personnel.
· Following up on past part issues
· Collecting Customer orders
· Delivering small parts from time to time
· Training provided on Excelarator
Customer follow up and administration (20% of time allocated)
· Submitting orders
· Parts investigations
· General problem solving
· Documentation; Compiling weekly call report
Typical daily schedule:
· 2-3 hours of drive time between
· At least (4) 30-minute Customer visits.
· 1.5-2 hrs reserved at end of day for administrative duties (order submission, investigation, problem solving, documentation)
Weekly schedule:
· 70% of time dedicated to Outside Parts Sales Role
· 30% of time dedicated to vehicle sales Customer base and their needs.
· Allocation of time to be reviewed collectively on a monthly basis, and adjusted based upon return on investment of time.
Expectations/Successes:
The outside parts sales representative strives to meet Customer’s needs and drive higher parts revenue within their region. Success can be measured with positive Customer feedback, survey results, and reporting indicating increase parts revenue. The role also includes representing all concerns related to our Customer relations, and the representative should listen and pass on non parts concerns to other appropriate dealership personnel.

· Shadow existing Outside Parts Rep for 3-5 days.
· DTNA courses on line.
· Excelarator Training
· Review Area of Responsibility. Define KABC Parts Customers.
· Define reporting lines: Regional GM, Parts Department Manager, VP of Sales.
