Role Summary: We are seeking a versatile Healthcare IT Consultant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for professionals who sit at the intersection of Clinical Workflows and Technical Execution. Whether your expertise lies in Data Reporting, System Analysis, or Interoperability, we want to hear from you. You will be responsible for ensuring that healthcare data is accurate, secure, and accessible across the enterprise while maintaining the highest standards of HIPAA compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Systems & Data Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analysis into clinical and financial systems to improve operational workflows.
- Reporting & Dashboards: Utilize SQL and visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI to create executive-level dashboards.
- Epic Data Management: Work within the Clarity/Caboodle environments to manage raw data extraction and ETL/DWH processes.
- Interoperability & Connectivity: Support data exchange using HL7 (v2/v3) and FHIR standards to ensure seamless system integration.
- Compliance & Security: Act as a subject matter expert on HIPAA regulations, ensuring all data workflows are secure and audit-ready.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between clinical staff and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Preferred Certifications (One or more highly valued):
- Epic Certifications: (Any module including Bridges, Ambulatory, ClinDoc, Resolute, Clarity, or Caboodle)
- Interoperability: HL7 Core Certification or FHIR Certification.
- Data & Analytics: Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst / Tableau Desktop Specialist.
- Project Management: PMP, PMI-PBA, or Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
- Healthcare Specialist: CPHIMS (Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems).
Technical Skills Checklist:
- Languages: SQL, XML, JSON.
- Standards: HL7, FHIR, ICD-9/10, EDI.
- Tools: Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, JIRA, MS Visio, MS Access.
- Platforms: Epic, Cerner, or Meditech (exposure to any is a plus).
