Sr. Director of Development

The Senior Director of Development partners with the CEO, Board of Directors, senior leadership, and program teams to drive fundraising strategy, secure major gifts, and grow philanthropic revenue.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and lead annual and long-term fundraising strategies.
• Manage major gifts, individual giving, foundation, corporate, and institutional fundraising efforts.
• Build, cultivate, solicit, and steward donor and funding partner relationships.
• Oversee grant development, reporting, compliance, and donor stewardship programs.
• Lead fundraising campaigns, events, and donor engagement initiatives.
• Partner with the CEO and Board on donor cultivation and fundraising activities.
• Monitor fundraising goals, budgets, metrics, and revenue opportunities.
• Maintain donor data and ensure effective CRM management.
• Represent the organization within the community and philanthropic networks.
• Supervise and mentor development staff and consultants.
• Leadership Responsibilities
• Serve as a member of the senior leadership team.
• Collaborate across departments to align fundraising goals with organizational priorities.
• Provide fundraising and donor pipeline updates to the CEO and Board.
• Promote a strong culture of philanthropy and communicate organizational impact.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or CFRE preferred.
• 7 years of nonprofit fundraising experience, including major gifts and grant development.
• Proven success securing philanthropic revenue from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
• Experience developing fundraising strategies and working with nonprofit boards.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with donor databases/CRM systems and fundraising analytics.
  
  
  

Preferred Experience

• Human services, behavioral health, social services, housing, workforce development, or related nonprofit experience.
• Experience with capital campaigns, major gift initiatives, or comprehensive fundraising programs.
• Experience leading and developing fundraising teams.
• Knowledge of philanthropic foundations and corporate giving programs.
  
  
  

Compensation: $150,000-160,000 Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
