What are the responsibilities and job description for the Benefits Specialist position at Soni?
We are partnering with a higher education institution seeking a Benefits Specialist. This person will provide customer service and respond to inquiries, assist with resolution of issues, and assist with annual open enrollment.
Responsibilities:
- Subject matter expert in medical, dental, vision, prescription drug, tax savings and voluntary benefit plans. Support the Health and Welfare team by assisting with implementations, administration and communication of health and welfare benefits for active and retired faculty and staff.
- Perform front line customer service via telephone and email for the Benefits Service Center, on average two hours per day. Respond accurately and timely to resolve questions and requests.
- Support Benefits New Hire Orientation and Annual Open Enrollment.
- Ensure benefit procedures and practices are followed to ensure compliance.
- Complete comprehensive research to resolve issues internally or in coordination with outside vendors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- 2-4 years related experience
- Strong customer service experience
Preferred Skills:
- SPHR/PHR/CEBS/SHRM certification preferred
- Experience in higher education or non profit
Compensation: $25-28/hr
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
