Soni’s client is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to lead the AP team and oversee the full invoice-to-pay process. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys building strong processes, ensuring accuracy, and driving efficiency within a growing organization.
Reporting to finance leadership, this individual will manage day-to-day AP operations, support close activities, and partner cross-functionally to improve workflows and maintain strong internal controls. The ideal candidate brings leadership experience, strong technical accounting knowledge, and a process improvement mindset.
Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Manager:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounts payable team
- Oversee high-volume invoice processing and approval workflows
- Ensure accurate 2-way and 3-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receipts
- Manage payment cycles including ACH, wire, check, and virtual cards
- Monitor AP aging and ensure timely vendor payments
- Review and approve journal entries related to AP
- Reconcile AP subledger to the general ledger
- Manage month-end and year-end close activities for AP
- Establish and enforce internal controls and company policies
- Handle escalations and resolve complex vendor issues
- Partner with Procurement and Finance to streamline processes
- Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance
- Identify and implement automation and system improvements
Requirements of the Accounts Payable Manager:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5–8 years of accounts payable or accounting experience
- 2–4 years of supervisory or management experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and AP best practices
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a high-volume or fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to drive process improvements and automation initiatives
- Strong cross-functional collaboration experience
Compensation:
$95,000 – $110,000
Compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
