Accounts Payable (Freight Payables) Supervisor

Franklin, TN | Fully Onsite | Full-Time

Soni's client, a global leader in the logistics and transportation industry, is seeking a Freight Payables Supervisor to lead a team of 8 Accounts Payable professionals responsible for high-volume freight payables processing. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong accounting fundamentals and experience in transportation-related AP operations.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise, coach, and develop a team of Freight Payables team members
• Oversee the accurate processing, reconciliation, and approval of freight invoices and related AP transactions
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies involving freight bills, load transfers, signature counts, and supporting documentation
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and AP best practices
• Partner cross-functionally with operations and finance teams to improve processes and resolve issues
• Assist with month-end activities, reconciliations, and reporting
• Develop and maintain SOPs and process documentation to support consistency and efficiency
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Previous Accounts Payable leadership experience required, including direct supervision of staff
• Background in transportation, logistics, trucking, freight, or heavy machinery/heavy equipment environments required
• Strong understanding of the accounting side of AP, including debits and credits, general ledger concepts, and credit memos
• Experience working with freight bills and transportation-related payables processes
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including PivotTables and lookup functions
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and/or SAP is a plus
• Experience creating process documentation or SOPs is highly preferred

Compensation: $70,000 - $75,000

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
