What are the responsibilities and job description for the Porsche Restoration & Metal Fabrication Technician position at Sonderwerks?
Porsche Restoration & Metal Fabrication Technician
We Don't Repair Cars. We Preserve Legends.
At Sonderwerks, we believe a classic Porsche deserves more than a quick repair—it deserves to be restored with the same care and craftsmanship that went into building it.
We specialize in the restoration, preservation, and thoughtful modification of vintage Porsche automobiles. Every project is unique. Every challenge is different. Every detail matters.
If you're an experienced metal craftsman who enjoys bringing classic automobiles back to life—and you'd rather build exceptional cars than process insurance claims—we'd like to meet you.
This isn't collision repair.
This is craftsmanship.
What You'll Be Building
From complete concours restorations to bespoke, one-of-a-kind Porsche builds, you'll be involved throughout the restoration process, including:
* Complete vehicle disassembly and documentation
* Rust repair and structural restoration
* Sheet metal fabrication and hand-fitted panel replacement
* Welding and custom metal fabrication
* Precision bodywork and panel alignment
* Surface preparation and paint support
* Final assembly and finishing
* Collaborating with a team of fellow Porsche enthusiasts committed to building exceptional automobiles
Every project presents new challenges, new opportunities, and the satisfaction of seeing a remarkable automobile come back to life.
Who You Are
You're a craftsman.
You appreciate straight body lines, perfect panel gaps, and welds that disappear. You enjoy solving problems that don't have instructions and understand that the details nobody notices are often the ones that matter most.
Whether your experience comes from restoring vintage Porsches, European classics, American muscle cars, hot rods, coach-built automobiles, or other collector vehicles, what matters most is the quality of your work and your commitment to doing things the right way.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in every repair, every fabricated panel, and every finished car.
What You'll Bring
* Professional restoration, metal fabrication, or advanced automotive bodywork experience
* Strong sheet metal fabrication and welding skills
* Experience repairing rust and structural damage
* Excellent bodywork and panel finishing abilities
* Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
* A sharp eye for detail and quality
* A positive attitude and strong work ethic
* Valid driver's license and authorization to work in the United States
