Very Strong in Mortgage Domain
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Owner (PO) with strong expertise in the Mortgage domain, particularly in Loan Origination Systems (LOS). The ideal candidate will be responsible for owning and managing the product backlog, collaborating with stakeholders, and guiding development teams to deliver high-quality features that enhance the loan origination journey. This role bridges business needs and technology solutions, ensuring seamless, compliant, and customer-centric loan origination processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams for all product-related matters.
- Own and maintain the product backlog.
- Define user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritize features aligned with business goals.
- Work closely with business analysts, UX/UI designers, developers, testers, and scrum masters to ensure clear understanding and execution of requirements.
- Partner with mortgage operations, compliance, and sales teams to gather business needs and translate them into system enhancements.
- Ensure the LOS adheres to all regulatory guidelines such as TRID, RESPA, TILA, HMDA, and FHA/VA/Conventional loan requirements.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives in the loan origination journey (e.g., automation, e-signatures, borrower portals).
- Monitor and report on key metrics related to product performance and user satisfaction.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and provide visibility into product progress and roadmap.
- Conduct UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and facilitate go-live readiness.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 3–7 years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst in the mortgage domain.
- In-depth knowledge of Loan Origination Systems (e.g., Encompass, Blend, Empower, Finastra, Mortgage Cadence).
- Solid understanding of end-to-end mortgage loan lifecycle, especially the origination phase (application, processing, underwriting, closing).
- Strong experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar Agile certification.
- Familiarity with mortgage pricing engines, credit services integration, and compliance validation.
- Exposure to API integration, document management systems, and eMortgage capabilities.
- Experience working with consumer-facing platforms or mortgage point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Knowledge of data quality, reporting, and dashboards in mortgage operations.
