Position Overview:
Sonac is looking for an Assistant Controller with a strong background in manufacturing and proficiency in data analysis and MS Office applications. The successful candidate must have at least 3 years of manufacturing experience and preferably knowledge of SAP accounting software. Experience with JDE is a plus.
The Assistant Controller position is responsible for assisting the Regional Controller in all duties ranging from data management to annual budgets and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing financial statements and related reports.
- Assist in tracking capital projects and maintenance budget.
- Assist in preparing financial dashboards and KPIs to management
- Assist with invoice entry and payments.
- Assist with setting up new vendors and customers.
- ERP data extraction and manipulation to useful data sets
- Process General Ledger entries and Journal entry transactions.
- Assist in standard costing updates.
- Assist with customer sales orders and shipments and supplier receipts of raw material
- Prepare monthly and quarterly SOX reviews.
- Data uploads and reviews
General Proficiencies:
- Strong background in Excel.
- Detail oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
- Knowledgeable in GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Strong ability to extract, analyze, and interpret large datasets from ERP systems to support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, costing, and operational decision-making.
- Cross-department communication and cooperation skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or other business-related field.
- 3 years of manufacturing experience in Accounting/Finance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SAP accounting software knowledge.
- JDE experience is a plus.
- Strong data management and reporting skills with the ability to transform ERP data into actionable business insights.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral
- Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, and kneel.
- Occasionally lifts up to 10 lbs
- Long periods spent sitting at a desk in front of a computer screen
- Regularly required reach with hands and arms
