Job Goal: The Somerville Community Schools Program provides After School and Out of School Time Care in the Somerville Public Schools. We operate After School programs from dismissal until end of program including early release days; full day programs during school vacation weeks and during summer. It is our mission to provide high quality, affordable, Out of School Time Care to Somerville children in grades Pre-K through 8.
The High School Intern will be responsible for the following tasks:
Seasonal/Yearly Employment
Monday-Friday
July 6-August 7 or 14 (waiting on final decision)
Hours: 8:15 AM-4:15 PM
Salary: $18.28 per hour
Mandatory Orientation TBD
Disclosure: All positions listed are subject to funding availability and student enrollment; courses may be cancelled due to lack of enrollment. If you have a prior commitment that interferes with work schedule, it must be disclosed before start of program.
Position Reports to: Summer Adventure Program Director at Healey and East

Grade level and content licensure is required when applicable. Dual licensure including ESL, ELL, or bilingual licensure and/or proficiency in a language or languages other than English is preferred.
The High School Intern will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Assisting Specialists with planning, prepping and executing activities for students in the summer program
- Assisting Group Leaders on site as requested and on field trips
- Supporting students with activities
- Supporting students during morning check in, lunch time, and during afternoon dismissal
- Assisting Hollywood Specialist during the Friday afternoon show
- Assisting with transitions between activities
- Answering the phone in the Main Office, monitoring the entrance for parents and providers, and transferring calls if needed
- Help with light cleaning in classrooms, cafeteria, gym, and on field trips
- Assisting with the daily set up and cleaning of classrooms and space including organizing supplies
- Assisting Program Director with copying, printing, and prep work for teachers
