What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2026 Summer School Programs - Summer High School: ESL Teacher position at SOMERVILLE HIGH SCHOOL?
Job Goal: Somerville High is continuing a summer program for students to recover credit. The summer program will provide a positive and cooperative learning environment which will address student academic needs as well as their social emotional needs addressed in their IEPs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual/multilingual and ability to communicate with diverse students and families
- Experience with middle and/or high school curriculum, instruction and assessment practices
- Massachusetts License in subject specific area
- A strong ability to work with students of varying levels
- Ability to maintain a safe and healthy environment for students
- Strong organizational and effective communication skills

Rate: $35/hr per hour worked
Mandatory Orientation and Professional Development Days: June 11, 2026
Program Schedule:
July 6, 2026 – July 31, 2026
Monday through Friday, 5 days a week
8:00am - 1:00pm
Reports to: District Director of Summer Programs and Director of the SHS Summer School Program
