Somerset Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as our Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). This leadership role supports the Director of Nursing in managing the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and delivering exceptional care to our residents in a long-term care setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and evaluating nursing services.
- Help develop and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and departmental objectives.
- Coordinate nursing services with other departments to ensure continuity of resident care.
- Supervise nursing staff and ensure adherence to job descriptions and care standards.
- Participate in facility inspections and surveys conducted by regulatory agencies.
- Support discharge planning and resident admissions.
- Monitor quality improvement (QI), quality measures (QM), and survey reports.
- Assist with staffing assessments, recruitment, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Conduct rounds to ensure proper care and cleanliness in resident areas.
- Monitor medication administration and treatment schedules.
- Provide direct nursing care when needed and assist in resolving care-related issues.
- Participate in staff training, orientation, and annual in-service programs.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold residents’ rights and dignity.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and safety protocols.
- Serve on the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee.
- Support the development of care plans and encourage family involvement.
- Promote a clean, safe, and professional environment for residents and staff.
Qualifications:
- Valid Nursing license in the state of Pennsylvania.
- Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or related healthcare setting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
