About the role
An Alarm Systems Technician' Helper is responsible for performing skilled technical work in the installation, maintenance, repair, modification, and testing of fire alarm, access control, closed circuit television (CCTV) and security systems hardware and software. Along with establishing a good working relationship with our customers.
Specific Duties
- Working along side the lead technicians to assist in installing, maintaining, repairing, and testing data cable and wiring, electronic door locks, access card readers, door position switches, request to exit detectors, CCTV cameras, and other security systems related hardware.
- Testing, repairing, and installing fire alarm systems.
- Testing security systems hardware and correcting malfunctions to restore the performance of the equipment to established standards.
- Working with data, alarm, and monitoring circuits.
- Installing and relocating security systems equipment.
- Additional duties as specified by lead technician.
Other Responsibilities and Duties
- Operates power tools and uses hand tools to install and repair electronic equipment.
- Performs physical inventories of security systems equipment.
- Distinguishes colors to identify color-coded cable, wiring, and electronic components that use standard industry color codes.
- Cleans security systems equipment and work areas.
- Meets scheduling and attendance requirements.
- Night work as needed.
Qualifications
- 1 Year minimum experience installing/servicing fire alarm, security and/or camera systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
- Ability to climb ladders up to 25 feet
- Ability to work on high aerial lifts up to 30 feet
- Valid Driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Professional appearance and demeanor
