What are the responsibilities and job description for the Before & After-School Care Provider position at Somerset Early Childhood Center?
Somerset Early Childhood Center is looking for a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic team member to join our staff as a Before Care and/or After Care Teacher.
We are seeking someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and can provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment before and/or after the school day.
Before Care: 6:50 AM–9:30 AM, Monday–Friday
After Care: 3:50 PM–6:00 PM, Monday–Friday
Candidates may be interested in Before Care, After Care, or both.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, caring, and safe supervision of children.
- Create a warm, positive, and welcoming environment for children.
- Engage children in age-appropriate play, activities, and conversation.
- Support children's social-emotional development and encourage positive interactions.
- Follow all Somerset Early Childhood Center policies, procedures, and safety practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom and play environment.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with children, families, and staff.
- Greet and interact professionally with parents and caregivers during drop-off and pick-up.
- Help children transition comfortably into and out of the school day.
- Work cooperatively with the Somerset ECC teaching and administrative team.
- Follow all required licensing and school procedures.
