We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchasing Associate to join our procurement team. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal departments to determine purchasing needs and specifications for materials, supplies, and services.
- Utilize ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, and other purchasing management systems to process purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct vendor research, evaluate supplier performance, and establish strong vendor relationships through effective communication and negotiation.
- Manage inventory levels by coordinating with logistics teams and utilizing inventory management tools like AS400 and MRP systems.
- Analyze Excel data and spreadsheets to identify cost-saving opportunities, monitor procurement metrics, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors to secure favorable conditions while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor supply chain activities including sourcing, logistics, production planning, and merchandising to ensure timely delivery of goods.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles within supply chain management environments.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of materials management, inventory control, sourcing strategies, and vendor relationship management.
- Skilled in using spreadsheets (Excel) for data analysis and reporting purposes.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful direct negotiation procurement.
- Familiarity with accounting software and procurement systems supporting purchasing management processes.
- Knowledge of logistics, pricing strategies, contracts management, and production planning is highly desirable.
- Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders to foster productive relationships.
