Solvus Global is a technology innovation hub where we don't just design—we build and launch. As a Rocket Propulsion Development Engineer, you will be the tactical lead for solid rocket motor (SRM) and propulsion component development. You will bridge the gap between theoretical propulsion fundamentals and cutting-edge additive manufacturing (AM) processes like Friction Stir, Wire Arc, and Cold Spray. This role is focused on supporting rapid innovation in component design, testing, and manufacturing. At Solvus, you will have the opportunity to rapidly grow in your role to potentially lead major business efforts as we spin out core technologies into standalone startups ready to solve critical challenges across entire market domains.

 

Required Attributes & Skills

  • Must be a US Person according to FAR22 CFR 120.15 -US Person
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree with 3 years' experience or PhD in Aerospace, Propulsion, Materials, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in propulsion technologies and propulsion systems (emphasis on SRM design), analysis principles, tools, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of propulsion systems or component qualification processes and procedures
  • Experience in the testing of propulsion systems or their components, including developing test requirements
  • Strong desire to work in a "build-test-iterate" environment with a focus on rapid hardware development
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute as an individual in a fast-paced, team-based environment
  • Ability to take and give direction well
  • Ability to guide teams, communicate the vision, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines


Advantageous Attributes & Skills

  • Knowledge of reactive materials design or high-temperature capable materials
  • Experience with additive manufacturing processes such as Friction Stir AM, Wire Arc AM, and Cold Spray AM
  • Experience with basic project management functions, such as task prioritization, scheduling, or tracking 
  • Experience in hypersonic materials design, testing, and characterization

Pay Range: $90,000 – $150,000

Disclosure Statement: This salary range is a good-faith estimate, and the final offer will be based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience, skills, and our internal equity analysis.
