Position Overview The NMHM is responsible for the cultivation, preservation, use, and development of the nation’s National Historic Landmark medical collection that consists of human and animal remains, manufactured artifacts, archival materials, and other collections of unique and inestimable clinical, scientific, social, cultural, historic, and economic value. The Logistic Support Specialist supports the NMHM Logistics Management Supervisor with planning, programming, coordinating, and executing logistics, facility, and administrative support functions consisting of, but not limited to, acquisition, inventory, property accountability, and warehouse management.Essential Job FunctionPrepares operating procedures to develop, administer, monitor, and coordinate a wide variety of logistics and maintenance actions Assists with warehouse inventory and excess management, as directedSupports indoor and outdoor event setup/teardown ensuring chairs, tables, tents, and other support equipment is available and properly inventoried, cleaned and returned to its designated storage locationMonitors and prepare supply replenishment requests for all First Aid stations, Automated External Deliberator (AED’s), Torniquet stations, fire extinguishers, and general supply requirements within both buildingsPerforms daily Random-Access Measure (RAMs) security surveillance rounds in and around both buildings in the morning and before leaving, looking for safety, security, mechanical issues, or unsafe conditionsActively participates in internal and external meetings regarding space utilization and building maintenance issues and assists coordinating space management requirements for office, storage, or special use spaceRoutinely inspects buildings for cleanliness, lighting, temperature control, maintenance, safety, and security issues and reports problems to the SupervisorEnters/retrieves facility project data into MS Excel spreadsheets and Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support System (DMLSS), Facilities Module to track facility project status, prioritization, and related issuesActively participates in internal and external meetings regarding space utilization and building maintenance issues and assists to resolve space utilization and building maintenance issuesPerforms market research and prepares acquisition documentation for requirements, as directedReceives requests from staff for alterations, repairs or minor construction and meets with appropriate staff members to understand the scope of the projectReviews drawings, materials, and equipment proposals to assess fair and reasonable estimates prior to project initiation Minimum QualificationsMust have at least 4 years’ experience in performing logistics, facility management, and administrative functions consisting of, but not limited to, acquisition, inventory, property accountability, and warehouse managementMust have a strong knowledge of acquisition management, property accountability, receiving, warehouse management, and the electrical and or mechanical trades, safety, security, and standard customer service practices Must have knowledge and expert proficiency using Microsoft Office 365 products to include Excel, Power Point, Word, Publisher, AccessMust have proven experience using the Defense Medical Logistics Standard System (DMLSS) to input, manipulate, and retrieve data and information relative to logistics and facility management activitiesDesired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Supply Chain Management, or similar advanced studies Experience in applying a comprehensive range of facility operations, principles, concepts, and practices with complicated technical requirements to evaluate customer requests for facility repair, maintenance, safety, and securityStrong written and oral communication skillsStrong customer service skillsSTI-TEC offers a competitive benefits package including:Medical, dental, and vision coverageLife insuranceShort term/long term disability coverageRetirement savings – 401(k)Paid time off (PTO)Holiday leaveAlternate work schedules (depending on work site)Flexible spending account optionsWhether you’re an experienced professional, a veteran, a former military or civilian federal employee, or a recent graduate, STI-TEC has a career opportunity for you.
