About the Role
This leadership role oversees multiple small, AI-native engineering teams delivering high-impact solutions within a Life, Annuity & Health insurance environment. AI is the core operating model—enabling near-autonomous delivery pipelines and intelligent, self-optimizing solutions. The role balances strategic leadership, delivery accountability, and team development while operating within HIPAA, SOC 2, and regulatory constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop AI engineering teams, ensuring high performance, delivery quality, and team health
- Own delivery across domains, aligning team output to business and value stream objectives
- Drive AI-native delivery practices, including autonomous pipelines and intelligent solution design
- Partner with leadership and AI governance bodies to shape strategy and standards
- Oversee cloud-native architecture (AWS), integrations, and secure system design
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and security requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2, DOI)
- Manage vendor relationships, budgets, and resource allocation
- Promote cross-team collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Communicate delivery progress, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 8 years of technology experience, including 1-2 years of leadership in AI-driven environments
- Proven success leading teams and delivering complex solutions at scale
- Strong background in cloud architecture, modern engineering practices, and AI delivery models
- Experience in regulated environments and compliance frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to build teams, develop talent, and drive strategic outcomes
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational leadership skills
