Job Title: Certified Human Resources Professional

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and certified Human Resources Professional to oversee HR operations across multiple behavioral health facilities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting leadership teams, and maintaining effective HR systems within a highly regulated healthcare environment. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of California labor laws, experience in behavioral health or healthcare settings, and the ability to manage HR functions across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all human resources functions for multiple behavioral health facilities
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including California labor regulations
- Support facility leadership with employee relations, performance management, disciplinary actions, and investigations
- Manage onboarding, offboarding, and personnel file compliance (I-9, Live Scan coordination, background checks, TB, CPR/First Aid, etc.)
- Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks in alignment with regulatory requirements
- Support recruitment efforts, including job postings, screening, interview coordination, and hiring compliance
- Oversee benefits administration, leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, and employee accommodations
- Coordinate payroll-related processes in collaboration with finance or external payroll providers
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS systems across all assigned facilities
- Provide guidance to leadership on HR best practices, risk mitigation, and workforce planning
- Support audits, licensing reviews, and compliance documentation for regulatory and accrediting bodies
Qualifications
- Active HR certification required (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP)
- Minimum of 3–5 years of human resources experience, preferably within healthcare or behavioral health settings
- Strong working knowledge of California labor and employment law
- Experience supporting multi-site or multi-facility operations
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance requirements and regulated environments
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- High level of discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail
Compensation
- Salary Range: $68,000 – $84,000 annually, depending on experience
