Solugenix is assisting a client in their search for an Accounting and Human Resources Manager. This is a contract to hire opportunity based in Santa Ana, CA (Onsite).

The Accounting & Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s day-to-day accounting operations and administering core human resources functions. This position ensures the accuracy of financial records, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the efficient administration of payroll, benefits, and employee records while serving as a key resource for employees and management.

Qualifications:

• Strong accounting understanding.
• Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Thorough knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.

Responsibilities:

Accounting:

• Manage the full accounts receivable process, including customer billing, collections, and cash application.
• Prepare and process bank deposits.
• Process vendor invoices and accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
• Reconcile bank accounts and corporate credit card statements.
• Prepare and file quarterly sales and use tax returns.
• Generate monthly sales commission reports and statements.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and related reports.
• Coordinate year-end accounting activities, including preparation of schedules and reports required by the company’s CPA firm for tax preparation.
• Record year-end journal entries and assist with annual financial close.
• Support internal financial reporting and accounting compliance.

Human Resources:

• Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding, including required documentation and compliance.
• Serve as the primary company liaison with Paychex for payroll and HR administration.
• Review and maintain employee timekeeping records and prepare payroll information for processing.
• Administer annual employee benefits enrollment and serve as the primary contact for employee benefits.
• Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files and HR records.
• Prepare and file annual Form 5500 documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.
• Assist management with HR-related policies, procedures, and employee communications.
• Coordinate monthly employee appreciation lunches and other employee engagement activities.

General Responsibilities:

• Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and employee information.
• Develop and improve administrative processes to promote efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide administrative support to ownership and management as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Pay Range for CA, CO, IL, NJ, NY, WA, and DC: $30/hour to $45/hour. Starting rate of pay offered may vary depending on factors including but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training and/or experience.
