Job Description
AMI Systems Analyst III (Landis Gyr Command Center) As an AMI Systems Analyst III (Landis Gyr Command Center) at APS, you will play a key role in ensuring the systems that power our metering and customer operations remain accurate, reliable, and ready to support Arizona every day. A major focus of this role is supporting and optimizing the Landis Gyr AMI Command Center, the central platform that drives our advanced metering communication and data management. You will monitor system performance, resolve issues, and enhance the technology that feeds essential functions such as billing, outage management, field operations, and customer service. In this position, you will work closely with IT, Meter Infrastructure, Field Services, and key vendors to maintain system health and keep high-quality meter data flowing. Your work directly strengthens APS’s mission to provide safe, reliable, and affordable energy and contributes to a sustainable energy future for our state.
Responsibilities
1) Monitor and Support Systems: Oversee the daily operation and performance of the Landis Gyr AMI Command Center to ensure reliable meter communications and high-quality data delivery.
2) Resolve Technical Issues: Troubleshoot alerts, communication failures, and data inconsistencies in partnership with internal teams and Landis Gyr technical resources.
3) Maintain System Health: Execute routine system checks, validations, and performance reviews to ensure the AMI ecosystem is accurate and available for billing, outage response, and customer service.
4) Collaborate Across Teams: Work with Meter Infrastructure, Field Services, and IT partners to quickly resolve issues and ensure system updates and enhancements are deployed effectively.
5) Improve System Performance: Analyze system trends, identify improvement opportunities, and support efforts to enhance reliability and efficiency across the AMI environment.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
1) AMI Systems Analyst III (Landis Gyr Command Center) Bachelors\' degree in Information Technology or related field and 5 years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
2) Requires strong technical knowledge within a job area or system and basic knowledge across related technical areas.
3) Experience in a 24x7 production support environment (on-call support preferred)
4) Knowledge of safety policies, practices and procedures; basic knowledge of computer science and/or engineering; generation, transmission and distribution system design, operations, and procedures; systems software and database administration; network and workstation technologies; technical issues related to energy management systems and applications; software, hardware and telecommunication; systems for real-time data collection and exchange. Skill in developing and writing technical documentation; evaluating and testing emerging technologies
Technical Skills
1) 5 years of experience supporting AMI systems (Landis Gyr AMI Command
5 Center) or utility operational applications
2) Strong understanding of AMI architecture (meters, collectors, RF mesh, cellular, HES, MDMS) Knowledge of utility meter operations and AMI workflows Familiarity with SQL queries, logs, and system diagnostics
3) 5 years of experience with Windows/Linux servers and basic network
4) 5 concepts (TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls)
5) Ability to troubleshoot Windows and Linux environments; provided off hours support as part of an on-call rotation; work well on a team; works well with customers/clients; problem solve; thinks innovatively; gives high level of attention to detail
Analytical & Operational Skills
1) Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis abilities
2) Ability to analyze meter communication and performance data
3) Understanding of utility operations, including billing, outages, and field services
4) Ability to prioritize and manage multiple issues in a production environment

2. Monitor system health, communication performance, and scheduled jobs
3. Identify and resolve system issues impacting meter reads, interval data, or operational commands
4. Ensure AMI system performance meets established SLAs and operational targets
5. Ensure accurate and timely collection of meter data interval, register, and event data 6. Work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot system issues impacting meter communication failures
7. Perform root cause analysis for recurring AMI issues, Coordinate issue resolution with IT infrastructure, network teams, field operations, and Landis Gyr
8. Track incidents and corrective actions in enterprise ticketing systems (ServiceNow)
9. Assist with Command Center upgrades, patches, and configuration changes

- Work Location:
- Role will be hybrid - after training, contractor will need to be onsite twice a month
- They will need flexibility to support business critical issues potentially on weekends or outside of typical working hours
