Senior Technical Manager

Soltesz is seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Manager to serve as a technical authority within our Land Development practice.

This role is designed for a seasoned civil engineer who wants to remain deeply engaged in technical work, design quality, engineering judgment, and complex problem-solving — without taking on traditional project management or people management responsibilities.

🏗 Key Responsibilities

The Senior Technical Manager will serve as a senior technical resource for land development design, including:

• Site layout and design
• Grading and earthwork analysis
• Drainage and stormwater management
• Utility design and coordination
• Roadway and transportation improvements
• Regulatory and permitting compliance

Additional responsibilities include:

• Performing advanced technical reviews of plans, calculations, reports, and specifications
• Providing expert guidance on complex engineering and regulatory issues
• Supporting QA/QC standards and technical best practices
• Assisting project teams with practical, technically sound solutions
• Promoting consistency, accuracy, and quality across design deliverables

✅ Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Maryland
• 20 years of land development civil engineering experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Strong knowledge of Maryland and local jurisdiction regulations
• Demonstrated expertise in:
• Site development design
• Stormwater management
• Grading
• Utilities
• Roadway design
• Permitting and regulatory compliance
• Proven ability to provide senior-level technical review, judgment, and problem-solving guidance
